Drying: The sculpted base is air-dried at room temperature. This process can range from a few days to a week, preparing the base for its first firing by removing residual moisture.
First Firing (Biscuit Firing): The base is hardened through firing in a kiln at temperatures between 1,650°F (900°C) and 1,980°F (1,080°C). This transforms the clay into a robust ceramic material.
